Write to us.

Email support@initial.app. It helps to say which device you use, its version of iOS or watchOS, and what you saw. A screenshot helps too.

We never ask for a password, a card number or a code sent to your phone. Don’t send them, even if a message that looks like ours asks.

Sol Pro.

Restore a purchase

Tap any feature marked Pro to open Sol Pro, then tap Restore Purchase at the foot of the screen. Sol asks the App Store what your Apple Account has bought, so sign in with the account you bought it with.

Share it with your family

Sol Pro works with Family Sharing. Everyone in your family group gets Pro on their own devices, with their own Apple Account.

Manage or cancel a subscription

Apple manages subscriptions. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Sol. You can also open the App Store, tap your picture, then Subscriptions.

A subscription renews unless you cancel it at least a day before the renewal date. If your plan starts with a free trial, cancel at least a day before the trial ends to avoid being charged. The lifetime purchase is paid once and never renews.

Ask for a refund

Apple takes payments and handles refunds. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from the receipt Apple sent you by email.

Friends.

Friends puts the people you invite on your World board, each with their city’s sky and time. Nothing is shared until you invite someone, accept an invitation, or share a game result or trip card with your name on it. To open it, tap the place’s name at the top of the Day tab to bring up the World board, then tap the Friends button.

What friends see

The name you choose, and your home place: its name and a point on a grid about 5 km wide. If you chose your place by searching for an address, its name is that address. Never where you are right now. Share your daily games starts on, so they also see your Almanac and Gnomon results until you turn it off.

Remove one friend

In the Friends sheet, tap the minus beside their name, or use the menu on their row on the World board. You leave each other’s boards, and the postcards between you are deleted.

Stop sharing

At the foot of the Friends sheet, tap Stop sharing. Sol’s server deletes your name and city, removes you from every friend’s board, and deletes your invitations and the postcards you sent and received. It needs a connection: if nothing changes, try again when you’re online.

Friends may keep postcards they have already received. If you no longer have the device you shared from, write to us with the name and city you used, and we will delete them for you.

What each permission does.

Sol asks for each one only when a feature needs it, and works without all of them.

To change any of these, open Settings, then Apps, then Sol. For Health, open Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Health, then Sol.

Your data.

Most of what Sol keeps stays on your device and goes when you delete the app. Your trips and flights also sync through your own iCloud, where only you can read them; delete one in Sol and it goes from iCloud too. Friends keeps its few details on Sol’s server until you stop sharing.

To ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, write to support@initial.app. We answer within 30 days. The privacy policy says what is kept, where and for how long.

On this site, an account is deleted from its own panel: sign in, then choose Delete account. That deletes everything kept on it.
